Assessment

Each Spring VHCA students take the Stanford Achievement Test Series, Tenth Edition (Stanford 10). The Stanford is a norm-referenced achievement test. As a norm-referenced test, a child’s scores describe how he or she did on the test compared with other students in the same grade across the nation.  VHCA students are also scored in comparison with other students whose schools are in membership with the New York State Association of Christian Schools.  VHCA students at all grade levels consistently test higher than the National Average. All VHCA Tenth Grade students also participate in the PSAT/NMST program. A number of VHCA students have met the requirements for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation Program because of their outstanding Index Scores. College bound students taking the College Board SAT consistently achieve a National Percentile Rank average of 68 to 71 percentile.
